Clocking In and Out

Employees are paid for all time worked. Hourly employees must clock-in and out for every shift. Employees will also clock in and out for meal periods, as well as any time spent out of your building or away from your work station/area for personal reasons. Your supervisor will finalize your time sheet before submitting to payroll. It is your responsibility to keep your time sheet accurate and report any errors with your pay statement within 7 days to your supervisor or Human Resources.

Break Periods

Employees are eligible for a 10-minute break period for each four hours of work with management approval. Employees on a break period are not required to clock in and out if they remain on campus. If you leave the campus with management approval you are required to clock in and out for the duration of the break.

Holiday Work Schedules

Sun Health is a 24/7 365-day business, therefore employees from certain departments are required to work during holidays. Sun Health’s observed holidays are:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day

Holiday pay is scheduled to begin at 10:00 pm the night prior and end at 9:59 pm the day of the observed holiday. Non-essential employees and employees who work in departments that are closed on holidays will need to use available accrued PTO hours to offset the reduced schedule. Management’s discretion determines essential and non-essential staff for the holiday schedule.

Non-exempt employees scheduled to work on a recognized holiday will be paid one and one-half times their regular pay. Employees not scheduled to work will be required to use Paid Time Off (PTO). It is at management’s discretion to determine which employees will be scheduled.

Employees who desire to observe any national or religious holiday by having the day off must submit a time off request through the time clock or Kronos Workforce Ready. Time off requests are granted at the discretion of business needs.
