Sun Health’s history dates back to 1966 when community leaders began forging a plan to build a hospital for the the burgeoning community of Sun City. That dream became a reality in 1970 with the opening of Boswell Memorial Hospital.

What is Life Care?
A form of long-term care, Life Care designates that housing and health care services are guaranteed for the life of the resident, regardless of what happens to their financial resources. A Life Care community also includes housing, meals, wellness and social activities, and health care (such as assisted living, memory support, rehabilitation therapy services and skilled nursing). Sun Health at Home was created because we understand the desire for some seniors to age in place. Sun Health at Home is a “continuing care at home” program offering highly personalized support and coordinated services to help people remain in their homes safely and confidently as they age. The Sun Heath at Home program can offer seniors access to high-quality health and non-medical services with a lifetime guarantee of care, all while protecting their hard-earned assets.
What types of classes are held at the Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing?
Our health series classes provide a number of education sessions to ensure senior members of the community have all the tools needed to complete their health goals such as improving balance or achieving weight loss. Physicians, nurses and other professionals present on a wide range of health, healthy living, and personal and financial safety topics each month for free or at low cost. Programs cover the gamut of topics from heart health, diabetes, cancer support, memory care, personal safety and consumer protection.
